Matt Hardy Credits TNA Run For Rekindling WWE Interest In The HardysOn a recent episode of The Extre
On a recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, WWE legend Matt Hardy opened up about his and brother Jeff Hardy’s recent NXT appearances, their emotional fan reception, and what the future might hold for The Hardy Boyz in professional wrestling. While their latest run in NXT has come to a close, speculation continues to swirl about a potential return to WWE’s main roster.
Reflecting on their time in NXT, Matt expressed deep appreciation for the warm reception from fans:
“It’s crazy how much universal love there has been in the buildings the last couple of weeks. Last Tuesday, it was a much bigger venue, and just the universal love there was incredible… It was just so flattering, so humbling, and the legitimate chant and the love and the passion those people showed us when they were saying, like, welcome back home, felt really special.”
The outpouring of support prompted Matt to reflect on the Hardys’ legacy—and where they hope to write their final chapter:
“I think Jeff and I have come to the realization, like, you know, the end of the day, the WWE is our home, and that is where we want to finish things when it’s all said and done.”
Despite their strong connection to WWE, Matt was quick to praise TNA Wrestling (now Impact Wrestling), where the brothers have enjoyed creative freedom and major success in storylines like the “Broken” universe and the “Expedition of Gold”:
“Once again, TNA has been amazing. TNA is a home too. TNA has been so great to us. They’ve been so good the way they work in concert. We’re having the time of our life at TNA.”
Matt even suggested that their impactful run in TNA may have reignited WWE’s interest in the duo:
“If we didn’t get this chance to have this great final run as The Hardys in TNA, then who knows if the whole WWE thing happens and they come calling again.”
He also touched on Jeff’s motivation, especially after his abrupt WWE exit in 2021:
“I know too for Jeff, he was real proud because he really had something he wanted to prove to everyone, and he felt that he owed WWE a debt, and I feel like… he thinks he’s paying that off, and he’s super hyped about his matches.”
As fans await what’s next, it’s clear the Hardys are soaking in every moment—and thinking carefully about how they want their storied careers to conclude.
